ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUES®
ART® is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that Dr. Ryan can help resolve quickly and permanently through ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.
PRENATAL
Chiropractic care during pregnancy is essential. As a woman's body is changing and adapting to caring for this new life within her, many new pains and aches can develop. Chiropractic adjustments are specific in targeting areas that are causing pain that relates to pregnancy. Gentle specific adjustments, given by Dr. Elise who is Webster Technique certified, relieve the stress and tension of pregnancy and allow the body to focus on growing a healthy baby without also having to heal the aches and pains.
PEDIATRICS
The birth process is often the first stressful event in our lives, followed by learning to roll, walk and run. Baby's bodies are so naturally in tune with itself that with one adjustment they can have huge relief. Signs of needing an adjustment can be excessive crying, latching or breast feeding difficulties, constipation or gas, and ear infections, to name a few. Dr. Elise's adjustments for babies and kids are very gentle and very specific with very low pressure and absolutely no "cracking".
Baseball Performance
Dr. Ryan combines his knowledge as a high school baseball coach, a personal trainer, and chiropractor to treat baseball players different than any other practitioner. He has taken courses with MLB training staffs to give his patients and players the same treatment that the professionals are getting with unparalleled results. Dr. Ryan uses soft tissue, spinal manipulation, and DNS exercise principles to effectively "bulletproof" the player's body for the stresses of the game. Dr. Ryan also offers pitching mechanics analysis for youth to college baseball players to educate players on how they can improve their performance and/or injury risk.
GRASTON TECHNIQUE®
Graston Technique® (GT) therapy is an evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that allows for precise detection and treatment of fascial restrictions as well as muscle and tendon dysfunction. Dr. Ryan is skilled at targeting those areas with Graston to help your body function and moved better.
Therapeutic Ultrasound is one way to relieve clogged ducts. Using deep heat to get to the source of the clog helps alleviate the pain, as well as the clog. Clogged milk ducts are normal and happen to 2/3 of nursing mothers. Some mothers experience clogged ducts that are not easy to resolve, and Ultrasound is a great alternative when home remedies are not helping. Ultrasound is a safe, gentle and quick way to reduce clogged ducts for nursing mothers. Dr. Elise is one of the few that offers this special service for new mothers in the Bay Area.
